Pain Management Licensee shall earn at least 1 CPD credit in the area of pain and symptom management by completing a CPD program or activity. Credits in pain and symptom management may include, but are not limited to, courses or activities relevant to the practice of speech-language pathology and relating to the public health burden of pain; ethics and health policy relating to pain; pain definitions; basic sciences including pharmacology, psychology, and sociology; clinical sciences relating to pain; clinician-patient communications as relating to pain; management of pain including evaluation and treatment; ensuring quality pain care; and programs and resources relevant to pain. | 1 | 2 years |
Human Trafficking Beginning with the 2018 renewal cycle, and all renewal cycles thereafter, licensees much have completed training in identifying victims of human trafficking that meet the standards established in Administrative Rule 338.604 in order to renew their license. Beginning 3/16/2021, individuals seeking initial licensure must have completed human trafficking training prior to obtaining a license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. | 1 | |
Cultural Competency/Diversity All professions licensed or registered under the Michigan Public Health Code (except for Veterinary Medicine) are required to take Implicit Bias training.
