Urinary System: Kidney Procedures

The kidneys are affected by many chronic conditions, such as renal failure, as well as acute injury, infections, and kidney stones. Diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease involves many different imaging and invasive procedures. This course will cover coding and reporting procedures to diagnose and treat kidney disorders found in the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set. This course introduces the learner to the format of the codes, pertinent guidelines, and common modifiers used with the kidney procedure codes in the CPT code set. The course will focus on identifying the appropriate code for these procedures using case studies and scenarios. A current copy of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Professional Edition is strongly recommended to optimize your understanding of the content covered.
