This module will review the signs that indicate abuse and how you should respond to suspected abuse of adults. Not every allegation of abuse or neglect is an incident of abuse, but you must investigate every allegation. It is important that you understand how to identify abuse and neglect and the steps involved in the investigation of abuse and neglect. This module is based on best practices and can be used as general guidance for establishing an abuse investigation protocol. Always refer to your organization’s specific policies and provincial requirements for guidance.
The goal of this course is to provide education to general staff in health and social care settings about how to identify, report, and prevent abuse and neglect of adults.
