Integumentary System: Integumentary System Procedures in the Medicine Section

The integumentary system includes the skin, nails, hair, sebaceous and sudoriferous glands, and breasts. Codes for procedures to diagnose and treat integumentary system disorders are found in Surgery and Medicine sections of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set. This course covers the integumentary system procedures classified in the Medicine section. This course also introduces the learner to the format, guidelines, and common modifiers pertaining to the integumentary system Medicine procedure codes (96567-96574, 96900-96999) in the CPT code set. A current copy of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Professional Edition is strongly recommended to optimize your understanding of the content covered.

The goal of this course is to instruct revenue cycle and coding professionals on the guidelines associated with coding integumentary procedures in the Medicine Section of CPT.
