Learning Objectives:
Recall the core concepts of CPT procedure coding for pacemaker or implantable defibrillator procedures.
Navigate the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codebook to locate codes for pacemaker or implantable defibrillator procedures.
Apply the coding guidelines and category-specific requirements to assign codes for pacemaker or implantable defibrillator procedures using the CPT code set.
Recognize when certain pacemaker or implantable defibrillator procedures should be coded separately.
Identify the correct modifier when modifier assignment is appropriate.

Cindy is a Resolute Coding Manager at a large integrated managed care consortium and also trains new coders in the nuances of coding. In addition to those duties, she serves as a subject matter expert on coding issues for the company's Compliance Department.  She has extensive knowledge in Specialty Coding as well as Surgical Coding nuances. She spent over 10 years’ experience as a Physician Auditor Educator assisting Providers in understanding the documentation required for the services provided as well as the diagnosis codes. Additionally, she spent over 5 years as an HCC Auditor in the early years of the HCC inception. Cindy served as an AAPC Local Chapter President for two years in Jacksonville, Florida.
