Hazelden FIT Evidenced Based Practices and Treatment Delivery
This package provides the principles of motivational interviewing, a basic introduction to cognitive behavioral therapy in the co-occurring-disorders treatment setting, and an overview to Stagewise Treatment. Participants learn how to identify client’s own change statements, identify the basic skills of motivational interviewing, and gain skills in responding to client ambivalence to change. In addition, courses present the underlying principles of CBT, illustrate how to conduct a functional analysis and teach coping skills and successful problem-solving. Stagewise Treatment courses include the stages of change theory and the stages of treatment model, interventions appropriate to each stage of treatment, and accurate assessment of a client’s stage of motivation. Learners will also learn the role medication can play in the treatment of co-occurring disorders and how behavioral health practitioners can help reduce the health risks many clients with dual disorders face. A module on harm reduction and crisis management is also included.
