Learning Objectives:
Apply basic greetings in Spanish.
Apply basic grammar rules for the use of nouns, articles, adjectives, pronouns and verbs.
Identify parts of the body.
Identify general cultural, physical and language considerations for Spanish-speaking patients with limited English proficiency.
Become familiarized with the cultural of three distinct Spanish-speaking countries.

Subject Matter Expert: Stephanie Betancur, RN BSN

Stephanie Betancur is a primary care registered nurse in the UNC-CH Campus Health Services. She is a 4th year doctoral student and research assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill school of nursing. She earned a bachelor of arts in Spanish language and cultures and political science at the Appalachian State University. She also has a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Stephanie is a member of the 6th cohort of the Hillman Scholars Program in Nursing Innovation.

Monica Caicedo Orellana, MS, RN, OCN, is an SME writer for Relias with over 20 years of acute care experience in nursing.
