Cardiovascular System: Endovascular Revascularization Procedures

Endovascular revascularization procedures are performed to restore blood flow by removing an occlusion within a vessel, such as a buildup of plaque. The lower extremity endovascular revascularization CPT codes (37254–37299) include various combinations of angioplasty, atherectomy, and placement of stents. To code these complex procedures correctly, you need a good understanding of the lower extremity vascular anatomy, CPT-defined vascular territories and vessels, as well as the coding guidelines and instructions in the Cardiovascular System Surgery subsection of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set. This course will help you identify the appropriate code for endovascular revascularization procedures using case studies and scenarios. A current copy of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®), Professional Edition is strongly recommended to optimize your understanding of the content covered.
