To recognize the most commonly used local anesthetics in dentistry
To understand the basic neurophysiological principles by which local anesthetics work.
To understand the properties which differentiate how local anesthetics are used in varied clinical situations
To learn how vasoconstrictors added to local anesthetics help in the ability to achieve and maintain anesthesia.
To recognize medical conditions which can influence the type and dosage of local anesthetics and vasoconstrictors administered
To review how local anesthetics are metabolized and excreted after they are administered
To know about reversal agents for local anesthetics
To develop and maintain a respect for local anesthetic administration as it relates to the safety and well-being of each patient.
