Augmentative and Alternative Communication for Pediatrics

Individuals of all ages, even those younger than 3 years old, can use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to support communication. In this course, we outline the components of a comprehensive AAC evaluation and explore the different types of devices available for pediatric clients. Learners will gain an understanding of how to match a client’s characteristics, needs, and culture with appropriate AAC, considering factors such as family and environmental support and funding.
