Ethics/Laws/Rules/Jurisprudence The word "ethics" or a derivative must be contained in the title; if not , the provider must indicate on the certificate the number of hours of ethics earned. | 3 | |
Suicide Prevention/Assessment/Treatment/Management If the word "suicide" or a derivative of the word is contained in the title, the continuing education earned can be used towards satisfying the suicide prevention continuing education requirement. If the title of the course/program does not contain the word "suicide", the provider must indicate on the certificate the number of hours of suicide prevention continuing education earned.
PLEASE NOTE: The one (1) hour of continuing education in suicide prevention may NOT be used towards satisfying the three (3) hours of continuing education in ethics. | 1 | 2 years |
Child Abuse and Maltreatment All persons applying for the renewal of a license or certification issued by the licensing board to submit documentation acceptable to the licensing board of the completion of at least two hours of approved continuing education per licensure cycle. Continuing education shall address, but shall not be limited to, recognition of the signs of child abuse and the reporting requirements for suspected child abuse in this Commonwealth. Continuing education curricula shall be approved by the licensing board in consultation with the department. The two hours of continuing education on child abuse recognition and reporting shall be completed by each licensee as a portion of the total continuing education required for biennial license renewal. | 2 | 2 years |
Child Abuse and Maltreatment All health-related licensees/certificate holders are required to complete, as a condition of licensure, three (3) hours of training approved by the Department of Human Services (DHS) on the topic of child abuse recognition and reporting. | 3 | 2 years |
